| Overview We off several types of fluorescence photometry systems for inverted microscopes. If you have an standard upright microscope, several of these systems may also be used. The components that make up a complete system can be configured in a manner to match your requirements and your budget. A simple and inexpensive system consists of a controller (PC-DAQ) and the D48 Detector (System 1). Using your existing microscope illuminator, this allows to quantitate fluorescence intensity using up to eight emission wavelengths. The addition of a filter changer (Model MFW-4) allows you to automate the selection of the excitation wavelength without moving the microscope dichroic cube (System 2 and 3). Finally, addition of our S48D Illumination Source provides a Xenon arc source for fully automated multiwavelength excitation (System 4). These components can also be used to measure fluorescence in cuvettes and with the addition of our cuvette accessory (Model CV1). The addition of a camera allows multiwavelength and ratio imaging. For assistance or more details, please call us.
System Details (Click on the Model Number for a description of the product) Microscope Photometry System 1: This low cost system uses the existing mercury lamp illuminator on your microscope as the excitation source. The fluorescence emission is coupled to our photon-counting detector for multiwavelength emission measurements. This system is perfect for single dye and dual emission wavelength applications (FRET, cAMP, etc.).
Microscope Photometry System 2: This system also uses the existing mercury lamp illuminator on your microscope, but incorporates a filter wheel between the mercury lamp house and the input of your microscope. The added filter wheel allows selection of four excitation wavelengths. The remainder of the system is identical to System 1, above.
Microscope Photometry System 3: This system also uses the existing mercury lamp illuminator on your microscope. The mercury housing is detached from the microscope, fitted with a filter wheel housing (model MFW-4) and the excitation light is cabled to the microscope with a light guide. This provides complete vibration and electrical isolation of both the illuminator and detector from the microscope.
Microscope Photometry System 4: This is our most versatile and popular system. It provides a complete multiwavelength xenon arc light source (Model S48D) that is isolated from your microscope. As with the other systems, a multiwavelength photon-counting detector is also included. This system is ideal for any fluorescence application involving wavelength shift dyes (EX or EM) or multi-probe combinations (pH and calcium, etc.),
