The Model CV1 Cuvette Module is an accessory that interfaces with the Model S48D Illumination Source and the Model D48 Detector Module for fluorescence measurements of samples in standard cuvettes (12.5 x 12.5 mm).  Together with either the PC-DAQ Controller or the RS-DAQ Controller,   these components comprise a complete multiwavelength fluorometer.  Excitation and emission light is conducted to the Cuvette Module using light guides (not shown). 

Features

• The cuvette holder is water-jacketed for temperature control.  Quick-connects are provided to connect the cuvette block to an external water bath (not supplied). 
• A digital thermometer monitors the temperature of the cuvette block.
• The Z height is 15 mm (height for the bottom of the cuvette to the center of the excitation beam).  Optional inserts are available for flow through cuvettes.  With a flow through cuvette, this Module can be used to monitor fluorescence in a liquid stream.
• A magnetic stir bar assembly is included.  It uses a powerful alnico magnet to maintain strong magnetic coupling in all types of media.
• An access port (0.031 inch diameter) can be used to introduce samples into the cuvette with a microsyringe.  Samples are introduced without removing the lid and exposing the cell to room light.  When not in use, this port can be closed.
• Fluorescence emission is measured 90 degrees relative to the excitation beam.  Contact C&L Instruments if you require a different illumination and detection geometry.
• The cuvette holder is designed for standard 12.5 X 12.5 mm cuvettes.  Optional inserts are available that can be used to reduce the required sample size to 50 microliters.
• Optional holder for a Clark electrode allows simultaneous measurments of oxygen consumption/evolution in a standard cuvette.
• Optional holder for coverslips allows for fluorescence measurements of cultured cells.  A perifusion system also allows exchange of the media during measurments.
