| FluorMeasureTM
is a software application for acquisition and analysis of fluorescence data
that is the software suite used by the C&L Instruments Dye Fluorometer and Digital Photon
Counting Systems (DPC-1 and DPC-2). Our Dye
Fluorometer system can attach to a fluorescence microscope for single cell measurements, to a
cuvette assembly for solution fluorescence applications or to a
bifurcated fiber optic probe for surface fluorescence measurements. FluorMeasureTM
has powerful features that are simply just not available in any other fluorescence
photometry system. FluorMeasureTM was truly designed from the
ground up with the needs of the research scientist at the forefront. The software
suite consists of two applications; FluorMeasureTM-Acquisition and FluorMeasureTM-Analysis.
The separate FluorMeasureTM Analysis software component allows
you to analyze your data on more than one computer.

FluorMeasureTM FluorMeasureTM-Acquisition is the data acquisition component application of FluorMeasure. The software allows you to easily set up the Dye Fluorometer for any type of data acquisition sequence and save your data to a file.
Experiments in FluorMeasureTM are easily set up using a multi-tabbed dialog box. You can set the instrument for single or multiwavelength measurements and save all the setting for later use. You have complete control of the filter wheels and shutters. The excitation and emission shutters are controlled independently and can operate in several modes, from manual control to fully automated. Filter wheel support can also be disabled, which allows FluorMeasureTM to be used for photon counting and analog data acquisition.
Excitation and emission wavelength filter changes can be programmed to sequence in the order the filters are placed in the filter wheels, or in any custom order to produce specific excitation - emission wavelength pairs. Specific excitation - emission pairs are programmed in a ring sequence that loops in the manner you specify during data acquisition. For a demonstration of how wavelength parameters are changed in FluorMeasureTM, download the Changing the Wavelength Sequence video (3,157 KB). See see our all our demonstration videos for more illustrations of FluorMeasureTM.
FluorMeasureTM provides several options to trigger data acquisition. Acquisition can be triggered internally with either a key stroke or mouse click, or externally with a TTL pulse. Pre-trigger delays and post-acquisition re-arming delays makes it very easy to synchronize the FluorMeasureTM data acquisition with other systems. This is useful, for instance, if you are an electrophysiologist and want to synchronize your voltage clamp system to the acquisition of fluorescence data.
Data from one or more fluorescence channels can be viewed in real time. Each monitor window can be scaled independently and can be set up to monitor one or more fluorescence channels, one or more analog channels, or a fluorescence ratio. The monitor window can be programmed to display the data in various color formats. Zoom capabilities allow you to view your data at the resolution you prefer. See the video Acquiring Analog Data Simultaneously (4,033 KB). This video illustrates how FluorMeasureTM can be set up to acquire and display analog data in a synchronous fashion with fluorescence data using two data-monitoring windows. See see our all our demonstration videos for more illustrations of FluorMeasureTM.
