We
invite you to view videos illustrating
some features of our fluorescence systems and software.
If you own a C&L fluorescence
system, you can download and upgrade to latest version of FluorMeasureTM
free of charge. To use this
version of the software, you must be using the PCI version of Model
PC-DAQ Controller card in your computer. If you are still using the
ISA version, you must upgrade your controller card to take advantage of
all the new software features available in this new release of FluorMeasureTM.
This version of FluorMeasureTM will not work with
the ISA Controller card. This version FluorMeasureTM
also requires Windows 98, 2000 or XP. To upgrade your Controller
card, contact us. To upgrade
your copy of FluorMeasureTM, follow the instructions
below.
Upgrade to FluorMeasureTM
version 2.7.5
Instructions
- Determine which version of FluorMeasureTM
you are running. Launch FluorMeasureTM and
check the version number under Help/About in the menu bar. If
you are running an older version, proceed with the upgrade
process.
- Download FluorMeasureTM
version 2.7.5. This is a Zip file. Save the file in an
empty directly and then unzip the file.
- Backup any data files and
configuration files (*.fex files) you may have.
- Open the Control Panel and
select "Add/Remove Programs"
- Select FluorMeasureTM
and click on "Change/Remove".
- Select "Uninstall" in
the next dialog box.
- Run the setup.exe program
located in the directly where you unziped the file you downloaded in
step 2 and follow the on-screen instructions. You are now ready
to go.

FluorMeasureTM
demo software
You can now download and test our
FluorMeasure software. This application uses an internal algorithm
to generate mock data, so you do not need any hardware to examine all the
features of the program.
Instructions
- Download the ZIP file of the FluorMeasureTM
demo acquisition software here. Put the zip file in an empty
directory and unzip the file contents into the same directory.
- Launch the EXE file.
Software is not loaded in any other place in your computer. When
you are finished with the demo software, just delete this
directory. This software is compatible with Windows 98se, 2000
and XP.
- After launching the software,
you will receive a message to indicate that you are using demo software
and that the program cannot be used to collect real data.
- To operate the software, you
must open a new configuration file. Configuration files are used
to save all your program setting. Each type of experimental
setup can be saved in a unique configuration file. Use the File,
New command to create this file.
- Next, you have to tell FluorMeasureTM
what "hardware" you have attached to the system.
Although you actually have no hardware, the software will work as if
you have an illuminator and detector attached. This is done
using the Setup option. Use the Options, Setup...
command, and selecting the Hardware tab. Chose an
illuminator and detector using the drop-down dialog boxes.
- Then setup a sequence using the
Sequence tab in the Setup options. For instance, select Spin
for Excitation and Spin for Emission, and then select Add
Step.
- Exit the Setup dialog
box and run the experiment by selecting Run using the Experiment,
Run command. You will get an error message, indicating
that FluorMeasureTM "Could not send
properties to the hardware!". This message occurs with
the software in demo mode, and it can be ignored.
- The only step left is to enable
viewing of the data. In the Monitor window, select T1
to view the data from Channel 1. Depending on the hardware you
selected in step #5 and the sequence programmed in step #6, several
data channels may be enabled in the Monitor window.
- For more information, or to
explore all the features of FluorMeasureTM, we suggest that you
download the user manual for the
software. If you would like a guided tour to all the features of
the software, which will save you time, please give
us a call. We would be glad to walk you through the software
at your convenience.

New File Converter Utility
Instructions
This utility converts our
"FLU" files into "CSV" files. FluorMeasureTM allows you
to save data files in one of two formats. These are FLU and
CSV. Files with the FLU extension are in a binary format and can
only be opened with FluorMeasureTM Analysis software
provided by C&L Instruments. Files with the CSV extension are in the
ASCII text format (comma separated value).
Files with the CSV extension can be opened by many software programs and
are recognized by Microsoft Excel.
- Download the flu2csv
utility.
- Put all the FLU files you want to
convert into one directory.
- Launch the conversion utility and
specify the directories for the input FLU and output CSV files.
Note, the parent FLU files will not be modified.
